AP Physics C and AP Physics 2

AP Physics C is a 5 credit course meeting every other day.  The course content continues to build on the following mechanics topics covered during junior year Marine Physics:  kinematics, vector problem solving techniques, Newton's laws of motion, potential and kinetic energy, simple harmonic motion and Newton's law of gravity.  An emphasis on problem solving using advanced math techniques including calculus is stressed through the course..  Students are required to have a working knowledge of calculus before taking this course.

AP Physics 2 is a 5 credit course meeting every other day.  The course content continues to build on the following topics covered during junior year Marine Physics: structural engineering, oscillatory motion, sound,  thermodynamics, electricity & magnetism, nuclear physics and quantum mechanics.

The emphasis is on problem solving using conceptualization skills and math technique. Students are required to have a working knowledge of advanced algebra and good written communication skills.
